The Center for Spiritual Awareness is a community where all persons are recognized, accepted and affirmed as unique, precious and valued expressions of the whole, of Spirit, regardless of ethnicity, gender, socio-economic class, disability, sexual orientation, creed, size, shape or any other apparent condition of the human experience; because we know the life of every person is the the life of God.
In this diverse and caring community we share spiritual nourishment and celebrate all paths to God through the Principles of Science of Mind.
We are a United Church of Religious Science, also known as The United Centers for Spiritual Living) affiliate. This movement was found in 1924 by Dr. Ernest Holmes. Hundreds of our churches can be found across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, Russia, and Africa.
We founded our community in late 1998, first in midtown Sacramento and then purchasing property at our present location on West Capitol Avenue in West Sacramento's new downtown business district.
We do not teach you what to think. We support independent, positive, life-giving, affirmative thinking as the approach to even the most difficult of life's situations. We do not proselytize, evangelize, or attempt to convert anyone.
We are not the same as Christian Science and we have no association with Scientology.

WHAT WE ARE
Our daily devotion is to discover God within us and to reveal more of our true spiritual nature and potential.
People of all religions attend and are welcome to become members or not.
We are a New Thought Community with Transcendental relatives such as Emerson and Whitman.
We are a community which supports acceptance and respect for all people no matter what their race, religion, or sexual orientation.

WE THINK
God is all there is in the Universe.
There is only one Power, and that is God.
God is Intelligence, Energy, Love, Abundance, Nature, and Creativity.
Each human being is a creation of God, made in Its own image and likeness.
We embrace the teachings which remind us that we see life not as It is, but as we are. Consequently, we take care of what's in our mind, and endeavor to keep fresh before us the Spiritual Truth that God is all there is.
Evil is the creation of humans and is expressed by humans as a result of our belief that we are separate from our Good, our God.
God is not human and has no gender or limiting human emotions such as anger, wrath, vengefulness or jealousy.
God does not ever deny us or punish us, but as provided the Law of Cause and Effect that says that whatever we believe, we create.
We never view the consequences of our freedom of choice as punishment by God.
We stop telling God how big our problems are and begin telling our problems how big our God is.
